Big players in the market as Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Google, Amazon invest a lot of time and money in AI in order to get a competitive advantage.

For the business, artificial intelligence implementation and machine learning processes have many opportunities to grow and work smarter.

WHAT IS AI

Artificial intelligence (AI), the ability of a digital computer or computer-controlled robot to perform tasks commonly associated with intelligent beings. AI can gather and analyze data, eliminate repetitive tasks and increase the productivity

Let’s see how Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Google, Amazon invested in artificial intelligence and what results they got.

1. Microsoft

Microsoft has been investing a lot in AI.

- Microsoft Research AI is a research and development center for future AI technologies.

- Azure cloud computing service is a tool to implement AI into the Office 365

Apart of it, Microsoft acquired five AI tech companies. Its latest acquisition was XOXCO: a software product design and development studio.

2. Amazon

- Alexa is one of the most popular AI implementations of Amazon, a virtual assistant that is supported by Amazon Echo Dot speakers and can set your alarm, send notifications, and interact with you via voice.

- Alexa Shopping feature helps buyers to order via voice. Let’s highlight here that voice search is one of the biggest trends in marketing, so it was a really smart move from Amazon.

3. Google

We see Google AI in multiple cases.

-Google assistant

It’s Google Assistant has a very wide usage. It helps users to solve their tasks on a daily basis.

-Duplex

Duplex is an AI driven voice that helps businessmen to set their appointments through Google Assistant

-Pair Initiative is an AI research center that can bring good results in future

-TensorFlow is a machine learning system that now is free for any developer to use.

Apart of it we can see Google AI examples in suggested replies in Gmail and advanced search algorithms.

4. Apple

-Siri is a virtual assistant that helps its users to set alarms, call people, send messages, etc.

- Facial recognition

Apart of it Apple uses AI to detect fraud and optimize the use of battery.

5. Facebook

Facial recognition – Facebook was the first to launch this feature.

Look like not much, all we know that this year, Facebook invested $7.5 million in AI Ethics Institute in Germany, Munich and Facebook wants to develop a virtual assistant and implement AI in a number of processes, like content monitoring and administration.
