Last year was tough for the majority of us and we were all very happy that 2020 finally finished. But did something actually changed?
The Covid pandemic is still there, people are still losing their jobs, businesses are still trying to survive, some of us still can’t see loved ones. However, a new year is always a new beginning, time to set new goals and make promises to yourself about improvements you will make. The main thing here is to stay motivated throughout the entire year. I used to dedicate a part of my life to inspire and motivate others and today, I would like to give you some recommendations as well.
Silence Your Inner Critic
Sometimes you might have no motivation for anything and it is absolutely normal, everyone goes through moments like this from time to time. Don’t feel guilty or judge yourself for not being very active. You may think that you are unsuccessful or don’t meet some certain standards, feel exhaustion or mental fatigue. Stop pushing forward constantly and spend some time rejuvenating and recovering.
Sleep well
If you are exhausted, you are unproductive and your passion for life is lost. Go to bed at the same time every day and get high-quality sleep. Forget about your work emails before going to bed and put your phone on airplane mode so nothing can disturb you.
Get a partner
You can set goals together with your friend, catch up regularly on Zoom to talk and share progress. This will help you fight procrastination and laziness as you always should keep up with your partner. You will encourage and motivate one another by your achievements.
Try to Avoid Negativity
Stay away from people who drain your energy. When you have no motivation, you may feel pessimistic. Being around negative people will make everything even worse. The best decision here is to stay alone and connect to your inner self.
Take action
Having control over things can help you reduce anxiety and overthinking. Write down your goals and break each of them into small ones, define the skills you need to learn. Keep the 3 top tasks you want to complete above all else. Thus, you will stay focused and won’t waste your energy on trying to recall what to do next. Crossing things off a list will help you see how many tasks you have completed and make you feel empowered.
Visualize Your Success
At least 20 minutes a day you should visualize yourself as successful and living the dream. The more you do that, the more possible it becomes. The things you focus on become your reality. Your actions along with your thoughts and beliefs define your life.
Appreciate Yourself for Being a Learner
If you encourage yourself only when you are a top performer or achieve high sales figures etc., you may feel down when your performance is poor. It is important to value yourself even for efforts or willingness to learn. You may make mistakes, but they give you experience and new knowledge, they make you stronger.
Dream big
To stay motivated, you need to set goals high. If you have small dreams, it will stop you from achieving great results. Some successful people did things, which other people believed were impossible. You may also read some books by or about successful people. Stories of success or overcoming challenges always motivate people all over the world.
Focus on the Possibilities
It is hard to be cheerful and proactive when you are exhausted and empty. You should let yourself have a day off, leave all the work and enjoy your favourite movie or TV show. It will clear and refresh your mind. Sometimes, when you try to help other people solve problems, you put their needs above your own. Just take a step back and focus on yourself: on your personal growth, ideas, potential. You will become more inspired and motivated. You might experience a spiritual revelation, which will remind you of your power, potential and help you see the variety of possibilities.
Help Another
From the other hand, helping others may also get your life back on track when you feel demotivated. Help doesn’t have to be financial, you can just talk to your friend who has some problems and give him a piece of advice or help another friend prepare for an exam or a job interview.
All people have dreams, but not all people achieve them. On the way to your dream, you will inevitably face challenges. The bigger your dream is, the bigger challenges you face. Sometimes you will feel tired, demotivated and exhausted, but you should never stop going. You will experience self-doubt, stress and negativity from other people. No matter how hard it is, you should always keep going. I hope these motivation tips will help you get some inspiration to keep moving forward and one day you will achieve all your big dreams.
