Would you need an external microphone?

My answer is definitely yes. With a perfect image and video, audio quality shall also be clear and flawless. It is important to eliminate all ambient noise. In order to do so you would need to purchase an additional microphone. Like different cameras types there are microphones types as well.

Condenser microphone for good quality sound

Condenser microphones usually capture a larger frequency range and have a good transient response, which is the ability to reproduce the “speed” of an instrument or voice. They also generally have a louder output but are much more sensitive to loud sounds. Headphone jack with volume control allows you to monitor the microphone signal with no delay. High output internal headphone amplifier delivers superior clarity and musical detail as well as more volume overall
