The best video editing software

video editing

How to learn video editing yourself? What video editing software should you give your preference to? In this article, I will provide an analysis and comparison of the best video editors for anyone who wants to learn how to edit or find new applications for the skills already acquired.

From the many applications for video editing, you need to choose the one that best suits your needs.

Adobe Premiere Pro

Premiere Pro is considered the industry standard. Here you can create projects of any complexity. When looking for an editor, they are most often looking for specialists who work in this particular program. And thanks to its popularity, the Internet is full of courses and other tutorials about Premiere Pro. This is very helpful for novice users.

The program supports a large number of formats and offers the widest set of settings for saving video. Project files open in Premiere Pro can be exported to other Adobe products for applying effects or audio processing. In addition, the already broad functionality of the editor can be improved with various plugins.

An indisputable advantage is free integration with Adobe After Effects. If you plan to create effects using the latter tool (for example, weddings, video clips), there is almost no alternative – you will have to install Premiere Pro.

Of the minuses – the program is quite complex, requires deep study, requires a lot of space on the computer and the technical characteristics of the processor.

DaVinci Resolve

Platforms: Windows, macOS, Linux.

Cost: Free or $ 385.

Another advanced editor that is commonly used in the industry. DaVinci Resolve supports fewer export formats than Premier Pro and lacks some features such as captioning. But this program is considered the best tool for color correction. And most importantly, you can use it for free.

The paid version of DaVinci Resolve features plug-in support and some additional features such as 3D video.

The program is much easier to learn than, for example, Premiere Promalte-helmhold-m0r4a8nmarw-unsplash-1024x682

Final Cut Pro

Platforms: macOS

Apple-developed Final Cut Pro is a powerful editor for professional video editing. Its capabilities are enough to be called one of the best in its class. In addition, Final Cut Pro stands out from the competition with its simple, fast and very smooth interface.

Cons – the program is available only for Mac owners, there are no versions for Windows and Linux.

Wondershare Filmora

Wondershare Filmora is also included in my roundup of the best video editors for YouTube video makers for beginners and semi-pros alike. Filmora is much more powerful than Windows Movie Maker on Windows and iMovie on Mac, but it also lets you create professional-looking YouTube videos with hundreds of presets in the form of filters, overlays, elements, transitions and multiple layers of effects and sound.

Movavi Video Suite

Movavi Video Suite is not as well-known as its more expensive counterparts from Adobe Systems, Sony, Corel, but it shows itself very well. Its main competitive advantage is versatility. The package includes tools for editing, video editing and frame-by-frame processing, sound recording, exporting the result to the web.

Moreover, the capabilities of Movavi Video Suite cannot be called amateur. The developers have even provided a toolkit for creating subtitles. If you want, you can edit an entire movie, not to mention simple clips and videos for YouTube (with which there is tight integration).

This was a list of my best video editing software. I hope my article will help you choose the one that best suits your needs.
