Best-Performing Stocks: March 2021

Despite coronavirus pandemic some individual assets showed significant growth in value and allowed investors to multiply their capital. Read in my article what individual the stock market showed very significant gains last year.

Obvious record holder of the year was the manufacturer of electric vehicles Tesla, whose securities have risen in price almost 6.5 times. The main driver for the rise in Tesla shares was the fact that the company ramped up production of electric vehicles, but that’s not all.

The company had gains for the past 5 consecutive quarters. Moreover, Tesla shares were included in the S&P 500 index, which has supported the quotes recently.

The company’s shares are currently trading at around $ 1,500. Thanks to the competent management strategy, cost reduction, and strong sales dynamics during the quarantine period, and now the assets are showing growth.

NVIDIA took the second place, having risen in price by 125% over the year. One of the largest graphics card manufacturers has demonstrated its strength this year during the spread of the coronavirus. The company’s two key areas are games and data centers, and these segments have shown strong demand this year thanks to the pandemic, which has contributed to improved financial results and support from investors.

The third place was taken by the payment service PayPal, whose shares have risen in price by 113%. This happened not only due to the increased need for online payments, but also because the company began to engage in cryptocurrency, which also received significant support from investors.

Amazon shares recently showed a very significant increase on the background of a favorable forecast published by Goldman Sachs. Equities quickly recovered losses that had appeared when the pandemic began. Many analysts expect the price to rise further. Citigroup analysts have increased the target value of the shares. According to them, the company will continue to benefit from the growth in online sales, boosted by the spread of the coronavirus.

If we talk about smaller companies, the returns were even higher. For example, biopharmaceutical companies Novavax and Vaxart, which are developing a vaccine against coronavirus. Their shares are up 2929% and 2040% this year, respectively. Another example is the electric car company NIO, which has risen more than 1000% this year as Tesla launched a race in that direction.
