Amazon is launching AI-driven Virtual Shopping Service

Amazon is going to launch a new AI-driven virtual shopping service that will offer to customers new opportunities when shopping online. The researches announced that these features will make the customer experience easier, changing the way they shop.

Amazon.com, Inc., is an American multinational conglomerate technology company based in Seattle that focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. It is considered one of the Big Four technology companies, along with Google, Apple, and Microsoft.

Artificial Intelligence is quickly finding its role in consumerism, as the digital marketplace behemoth Amazon is demonstrating us. As a result, Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) stock was on the rise, surging by 1.25%. The stock is trading at $2,513, having closed at $2,483 on Friday.

Amazon is going to present their product in upcoming conference at Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

New shopping service will be based on various algorithms. One will enable clients to make use of the first algorithm to hone search queries, another algorithm would aid customers to search and recommend products matching something the user has shown interest in. And the last will model chosen look, it is like a try-on system that help customers to visualize the future look.

The system does its best to estimate users’ body type, color, to guess what possibly an outfit would look like on them in real life.

Before Amazon launched augmented reality features in 2018 – the feature let customer to visualize furniture in the room let view products in customer’s home before they buy them. They could see how products fit and look in their home before buying with accurate dimensions via their iPhone camera.

As most consumers approach online shopping with an air of hesitation and shop with the lingering fear that the products they purchase may not arrive as they appear online, augmented reality feature was quite a good move.

The integration of AR, AI algorithms into consumerism opens up a door to vast technological advancements throughout numerous online marketplaces in the future. Without a doubt coronavirus pandemic became a trigger to these trends. With the rapid advancement of AR, VR (virtual reality) technology and AI the next few years may bring a wave of better, faster and more technological online shopping.
